Microplastics have been found in 100% of sea turtle species, as well as in human blood, placentas, and lung tissue (WWF, 2019 / Amsterdam UMC, 2022). A study from the University of Newcastle found that we ingest around 5 grams of microplastic per week — about the weight of a credit card.
